Keep these tips in mind when exercising.
Rushing to achieve unrealistic goals will backfire, especially early in your fitness journey.

You finally have the motivation to start exercising. The benefits gained from being active and eating healthy are known to everyone, especially those who want to lose weight and stay healthy . However, when exercising, especially if you've just started exercising and don't know what you're doing, you may make some rookie mistakes. These mistakes can give you results that are opposite to your goals. Want to know what these errors are? Continue reading our article!

The Most Common Rookie Mistakes While Working Out

Going from Zero to 100

When you start your fitness journey, the first three days are difficult because your muscles will be sore. After this period, you may want to go from zero to one hundred in a very short time. Advanced  exercises or intense workouts are not the best things to do for beginners. Your body and muscles need to slowly get used to all this effort and exertion.

Do progressive exercise that gives your muscles time to grow and rest so you can avoid injury.

Not Lifting Weights

People who join the gym to lose weight often think that lifting weights will make them more muscular and, as a result, they will gain weight. However, this is a completely wrong idea: weights are the most effective way to burn fat and therefore lose weight. It's not really important what you weigh on the scale, it's how you look and how your clothes fit.

Even though you went down a size, you may not have lost weight because you gained muscle mass while burning fat. What's more, lifting weights trains your body to its fullest potential. This speeds up your metabolism and shapes your entire body . Thus, it helps prevent skin sagging caused by weight loss.

Eating Everything

Many people think that they can eat whatever they want if they exercise. However, this is not true at all. However, how much you can eat depends on your goals. If you want to shape your body and maintain your weight, you can eat as you usually do and get the results you want.

But if you want to lose weight, you will need to reduce your calorie intake. Also remember that a balanced and healthy diet , low in fat and sugar, with carbohydrates playing a key role, is essential to achieve good results.

Stability

Once you start seeing the results you want through exercise and a healthy diet, you'll be more motivated to hit the gym four times a week or even more often  . However, over time, you may get bored and reduce your exercise days or even stop exercising altogether. However, stability and determination are very important for continued progress while doing sports.

Always Doing the Same Thing

Picture this: you found the perfect machine for shaping areas of your body that you don't particularly like, and you use it every day. Bad news! Although at first it may give you the results you want, eventually your body gets used to it. Eventually you will become “immune” to the same exercise. This is one of the most common mistakes encountered while doing sports.

Remember that you cannot burn fat locally, instead you have to burn fat from all parts of your body and therefore, do other exercises and change your routine. For example, you can work your legs and back on one day, and your arms and abs on another day.

Not Doing Warm-Up and Stretching Exercises

Once you're past the early days and your muscles no longer hurt as much, don't think you can exercise without taking care of your muscles. Remember, warming up with cardio and stretching after each workout is essential to avoid injuries. Warming up and stretching will lead you to success in your fitness journey.

If you take all these tips into consideration, you will not make “rookie” mistakes while working out. These mistakes will hinder the goals you want to achieve and even increase your risk of injury. Nobody said it would be easy, but it's not impossible, you can do it!
