Times have changed, the virtual dolls that we always had when we were little were replaced by mobile phones.
Intensive use of social media has brought about various professions. Concepts such as social media management, influencer and phenomenon did not exist in our lives until ten years ago. Nowadays, brands, and even the social media platforms where these posts are shared, are thinking and making plans about how they will adapt themselves to developing technology. The spread of social media has brought various professions with it. Social media expertise is one of them. While we categorize phenomena only as TV and artists, social media phenomenon has developed a new method in the marketing industry.
As technology evolves, social media does not hold back. Can a virtual reality environment entered with the help of special glasses and a remote control replace social media?
What is this virtual reality? Or are we in the Matrix? No. Virtual reality (also known as Virtual Reality VR) is a new platform where you can chat with people on the other side of the world by changing your voice, taking on the avatars you want, recording and sharing it and showing it to others, without sharing your personal information, currently connected with the help of glasses and a remote control.
VR is still new and visually weak. But this is not an obstacle for it to be a platform that will shake the whole world and drag the masses after it. The best part is that it is so easy that even old Grandpa Mehmet, who does not understand phones, can put on his glasses and use it.
People who do not leave their homes, take on characters they are not, and share them on social media as if they were them, and receive many likes, can take this one step further and have the body structure and facial features they want, and lose themselves in a world beyond their imagination.
The cake is quite large and has not yet been cut into slices. Will it be a brand that acts early? Employees who spend their two weeks of annual leave to get tired on the road instead of resting in resorts may lie on a beach from where they are sitting, sponsored by a hotel, and when they look to the side, they may see a celebrity waving at them or perhaps serving them. Or you can try on a piece of clothing that you really wanted to buy but couldn't try on because you didn't have time to go to the store and see if it fits on your avatar. It is certain that whoever attracts the minds of young people will take the biggest slice.
The present day of social media is on the phones in our pockets. So what will happen tomorrow? Will it fit into the glasses we wear from where we sit, or will a new, unthinkable discovery emerge? Time will show that.
